September training features courses on DSpace and Open Journal Systems

The Texas Digital Library concludes its summer training schedule on September 21 with courses on DSpace Customization and the Open Journal Systems journal management software.

Both courses are full-day classes and will take place at Baylor University in Waco. Please register now to reserve your space!

The following classes will be offered on September 21.

DSpace Customization

Time: 9 AM to 4 PM
Course cost: $50
Instructor: Steven Williams
Intended for users with a working knowledge of DSpace, this course instructs participants on how DSpace can be customized to fit the specific needs of their respective institutions. Learners will work in a DSpace test-bed to customize everything from look-and-feel of the repository to the highly customizable display of repository data.

Online Scholarly Journals using Open Journal Systems (OJS)

Time: 9 AM to 4 PM
Course cost: $50
Instructor: Kristi Park
Participants will learn how they can use TDL’s OJS service to create moderated academic journals online, complete with peer review cycles.
