On Monday, September 13, the TDL software team began a development sprint devoted to improving the Vireo ETD Submission and Management System. The two-week sprint will focus on fixing four issues (see list below). A second planned sprint is currently slated for September 27-October 8.
Members of the TDL development team working on the sprints include Scott Phillips, Jade Lindquist, and Otto Fox; Alex Maslov, a senior software developer with the Texas A&M Libraries, is also lending his time and expertise to the project.
The current sprint will address four issues in Vireo:
- The Add/Save a Filter function is not working properly in the Vireo Admin interface.
- Administrators are not able to sort lists of ETDs by the UMI Publication Release column.
- The default selection for UMI Publication release should be unchecked.
- The MARCXML export tool requires upgrading to include the complete set of ETD metadata fields. (See the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations ETD Metadata Standard)
