U.S. Senators Cornyn and Lieberman Introduce the Federal Research Public Access Act of 2006
On May 2, 2006, Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) introduced the bipartisan Federal Research Public Access Act of 2006, co-sponsored by Senator Joe Lieberman (D-CT). If passed, the bill would improve taxpayer access to federally-funded research by requiring federal agencies with annual budgets exceeding $100,000 to ensure their research is preserved in a stable, public-access digital repository.
