TDL Universal Resource Namespace (URN) - urn:mace:tdl.org

MACE has delegated the operations of the urn:mace:tdl.org namespace to the Texas Digital Library. For further information on MACE URNs please visit:

Namespace Definitions

Namespace:

urn:mace:tdl.org:dir:tdlUID

Purpose:

Permanent unique identifier number scoped to a security domain (i.e. university or department)

Format:

Two parts separated by an "@" sign. The value to the left of the "@" must be a numeric or alphanumeric identifier. The value to the right of the "@" sign must be a security domain.

Namespace:

urn:mace:tdl.org:dir:tdlHomePostalAddress

Purpose:

Person's home mailing address.

Origin:

This is an alternative version of homePostalAddress as defined by RFC 1274 and referenced in RFC 2798 and EduCause EduPerson that specifically states the common practice of seperating lines by the "$" sign.

Format:

Several lines separated by the "$" sign.

Purpose:

Text description of student's major

Format:

Alphanumeric string

Purpose:

Unique code or number identifying student's major

Format:

Numeric or Alphanumeric identifier

Example:

CPSC

Namespace:

urn:mace:tdl.org:dir:tdlEduPersonGraduationSem

Purpose:

Student's graduation semester.

Format:

Four digit year followed by the semester encoded as a letter. Typically semester codes are: A=spring, B=summer, C=fall but may vary for institutions where this does not apply, such as those on the quarter system.
