Course: Creating a Scholarly Blog with the TDL

In this course, learners become familiar with the use, support, and promotion of blogs for research and other scholarly purposes in academic institutions. The course provides instruction and best practices for development of a blog in WordPress, the bloggin software used by the TDL.

Among other things, the course covers the following topics:

  • Configuring a blog site
  • Blog design and layout
  • Adding pages and posts
  • Moderating comments
  • Using images
  • Dealing with comment spam

The course is intended for university staff and librarians wishing to support blog service for their faculty and staff, as well as for individual faculty and members interested interested in starting a blog.
