In this course, learners become familiar with the use of WordPress to create sites and blogs with a scholarly focus. The course provides instruction and best practices for development of a blog or site in WordPress, the software used by the TDL.
Among other things, the course covers the following topics:
- Differences in configuring blogs and websites using WordPress
- Adding pages and posts
- Embedding multimedia such as video, slideshows and more
- Moderating comments
- Using images
- Dealing with comment spam
The course is intended for university staff and librarians wishing to support the service for their faculty and staff, as well as for individual faculty and members interested interested in creating a blog or website.
