TDL-hosted electronic journal The Journal of Virtual Worlds Research (JVWR) was featured yesterday on Ars Technica, a technology news and information website, in a feature on growing academic interest in the sociology of virtual communities.
Go here to read “Sociologists invade World of Warcraft, see humanity’s future” and learn more about the kinds of research into virtual human interaction that JVWR is publishing. The latest issue of the Journal of Virtual Worlds Research, which has been hosted by the TDL Electronic Press since 2008, can be found here.
Incidentally, the Ars Technica feature caught the eye of Boing Boing blogger Cory Doctorow, who discussed the article and the Journal of Virtual Worlds Research yesterday. Congratulations to JVWR editor Jeremiah Spence and the editorial team at the journal.
