TCDL 2012 keynote speakers announced

2012 Texas Conference on Digital Libraries logoThe TCDL Conference Committee is pleased to announce this year’s keynote speakers for the Texas Conference on Digital Libraries, to be held May 24-25 in Austin, Texas.

The opening keynote address will be delivered by James Hilton, Chief Information Officer at the University of Virginia and a leader of the Digital Preservation Network (DPN) project to build a federated preservation infrastructure designed to safeguard the digital scholarly record for future generations. The Texas Digital Library, host of TCDL 2012, is a partner on the DPN project.

John P. Wilkin, Executive Director of HathiTrust and Associate University Librarian for Library Information Technology at the University of Michigan, will serve as the closing keynote speaker. Through his work with HathiTrust and other organizations, Wilkin has been involved in several foundational projects to collaboratively build and preserve digitized library collections.

We are excited to welcome these two distinguished technology and library leaders, who will anchor a stimulating program of talks, posters, workshops, and “birds of a feather” sessions. For more information about the TCDL 2012 program and keynote speakers, please visit the conference website.
