TDL to upgrade Conference Sites to OCS 2.3.5

TDL technical staff have begun a project to upgrade all hosted online conference websites to the latest version of Open Conference Systems software (version 2.3.5). During the upgrade process, TDL is making an additional configuration change to some older conference sites that will bring them in line with current site setup and maintenance processes.

Effie Jarrett, senior systems administrator at the TDL, is the lead on the project, which includes two objectives:

  • Upgrading the OCS software for all sites to OCS 2.3.5.
  • Running each site on its own OCS installation.

Legacy conference sites (those set up prior to mid-2011) have been run off of a single, multi-site OCS installation. These sites are also running in an older version of OCS (version 2.1.1.2).

Since 2011, the TDL has set up new conferences sites in a more recent version and using a different configuration, with each site running a separate installation of OCS. This configuration provides greater flexibility for users and easier maintenance and tracking for TDL staff. With this upgrade process, all sites will using the same version and standardized setup.

The TDL will communicate with individual conference managers and users as the upgrades take place in order to minimize any impact on users.

The list of all conferences hosted by the TDL is available on the TDL website.
