Call for Proposals
The Texas Conference on Digital Libraries (TCDL) Planning Committee invites proposals for the 2020 conference (May 18-21). Conference content may include:
- Presentations
- Panel sessions
- 24×7 (Lightning round) presentations
- Posters
- Workshops, Tutorials
- Birds-of-a-Feather sessions
Proposals will be peer reviewed, with final decisions made by the program committee. To submit a proposal, create an account or log-in through the CVENT site and complete the submission process by January 24, 2020.
Presentations
(25-minutes): General presentations on practical work, theoretical or speculative issues, or ongoing completed research.
Panels
(60-minute): Panel sessions should address a single topic, based on this year’s theme, from multiple perspectives, with a strong preference for participants from multiple institutions. We expect panels to be organized to represent a range of professional backgrounds and experience, and to be interactive in nature or discussion-based.
Proposals should be:
- Multi-institutional
- Based around the conference theme
- Interactive or discussion-based
24×7 Presentations
(24 slides in 7 minutes): 7-minute presentations comprising no more than 24 slides.
Posters
Posters will be featured at the conference reception and through a “Minute Madness” session, during which presenters will give a 60-second summary of each poster.
Easels will be available at the conference site, and foam board will be made available to mount printed posters on. TCDL organizers will be unable to provide power for multimedia displays. Additional details about poster requirements will be provided following acceptance.
In your poster proposal, please submit an abstract of 500 words or less detailing the main theme(s) of your poster.
Workshops & Tutorials
These events provide venues for in-depth instruction in important areas of digital library practice (workshops), demonstrations of new or useful tools and technologies (tutorials), and gatherings of interested attendees to engage in discussion about a particular topic (birds-of-a-feather sessions).
Proposals should include:
- Objectives/outcomes for the session
- Target audience, including the target level of expertise
- Tech requirements
- Time Expectation: 2, 4, or 8 hours
Birds-of-a-Feather sessions
Proposal for 1-hour sessions overlapping breakfast or the lunch break.
