Digital Public Library of America

Several current TDL members joined our DPLA aggregation service and will have their digital collections metadata included in the Digital Public Library of America. This month, we added 30,000+ records from Southern Methodist University and UT Southwestern Medical Center’s collections. These collections are now discoverable via DPLA alongside other TDL DPLA users’ collections and 47 million additional items aggregated from libraries and archives across the US. Learn more about these new TDL member collections in this blog post.

Texas Data Repository

Long-time member UT Southwestern Medical Center has joined TDL’s research data management service, the Texas Data Repository (TDR), in order to provide researchers with a platform for data sharing to meet the requirements of the new NIH data sharing policy.

Additionally, we are working with the Texas Disaster Information Systems (TDIS) project as a TDR Affiliate member. TDIS is a multi-institutional collaboration that is developing data collection and analysis systems to support disaster resilience efforts for the state of Texas. The Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) is a key partner in this project.

Our institutional repository hosting service also continues to grow. TDL will launch a brand new DSpace repository for Tarrant County College this spring, and we are working with Texas State University to migrate their institutional repository to TDL infrastructure.

And finally, we are thrilled to welcome the University of Illinois-Chicago libraries to our consortium as a Vireo Affiliate. UIC will become our newest user of TDL-hosted Vireo, the open source software solution for managing electronic theses and dissertations.

If your institution is interested in exploring membership and service usage with the Texas Digital Library consortium, please contact us at info@tdl.org. You can learn more about membership in the TDL at https://main.tdl.org/members/membership/
