The Texas Digital Library has concluded deployment and testing of staging instances of Vireo 1.8 for each member institution and will begin the rollout of production instances in February, beginning with UT Austin the week of February 4th.

The Texas Digital Library has begun to roll out staging versions of Vireo 1.8, while development for a future version of Vireo continues.
The Vireo Development Team concluded active development of Vireo 1.8, a new version the Vireo Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Management System, and began deployment and testing of staging instances of the software for TDL members.
Development efforts for Vireo 1.8 are continuing this summer, with completion of the new code scheduled for fall 2012 and implementation thereafter.
The Texas Digital Library has upgraded all its hosted Vireo installations to Vireo 1.2.1, the latest version of the software.
Members of the TDL consortium used the Vireo electronic thesis and dissertation management system to receive and process approximately 1,700 graduate and undergraduate theses and dissertations in Spring 2011.

Laura Hammons, chair of the Vireo Users Group and Thesis Office Director at Texas A&M University, received a 2011 ETD Leadership Award from the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD).
Using TDL services, member institution UT Southwestern Medical Center Library is upgrading its electronic thesis and dissertation (ETD) program to streamline submission and management and make theses and dissertations more visible to the worldwide scholarly community.
