This birds of a feather session will provide an opportunity for library personnel from across Texas with a common interest in geographic information systems (GIS) software and geospatial data to come together to share ideas, discuss current trends, and identify opportunities for collaboration. Data collected for research that is funded by many grant agencies is now considered a public good and researchers are often required to make their data openly accessible. Journal publishers also are requiring authors to publish data used in articles for reproducibility. Join us as we discuss issues such as FAIR Data Principles, data curation practices, GIS data professional development needs, funding mandates for data management plans and how these provide opportunities for libraries to assist researchers in the research…

The TDL Imaging Group was founded in 2019 to address the challenges of cultural heritage imaging among regional practitioners. The TDL Awards ceremony, which was originally slated to take place during the opening plenary session on May 19, 2020 at the Texas Conference Digital Libraries, is going to be held online on July 30th. The USETDA has announced USETDA 2020, the 10th annual conference. In an effort to provide a safe meeting environment as well as to preserve the work and funding already put into this year’s conference, we sought new opportunities for outreach and engagement.
