OER Support

Texas Digital Library is expanding our services to include support for Open Educational Resources (OER). Driven by initiatives to increase the adoption of OER from across our consortium of academic libraries, TDL is responding to the needs of our members as well as the needs of Texas higher education students to meet their scholarly and financial challenges.

Below are some of the ways TDL members will benefit from our OER Support.

Open Textbook Network Membership

The Open Textbook Network (OTN) is an alliance of higher education institutions committed to improving access, affordability, and academic success through the use of open textbooks. OTN focuses on training libraries and faculty to build capacity for Open Textbook programs.

All current and future Regular and Consortial Members of Texas Digital Library are automatically included in the membership at no additional service cost.

Learn more about the benefits of OTN membership for TDL members at https://www.tdl.org/2019/10/otn/.

TDL OER Ambassadors

OTN Summer Institute attendees within the TDL membership will be able to join the TDL OER Ambassadors Group. This group will serve to develop a Community of Practice around OER and a source of expertise for all consortium members.

Willingness to become a TDL OER Ambassador is a requirement for application for any of the TDL consortial seats at OTNSI. Application information for the Summer Institute will be announced to TDL members soon.
